Javier de la Plaza - Assignment #2

Blogger #2  This project has been very interesting and informative to me as I have learned alot about the government of the United States and about the governments of other countries. To begin with, our project was about gender equality, this was a very interesting topic to get as there is a lot of information to talk about and I believe that it is always good to talk about gender equality as it's a topic that hopefully in the future is not as controversial as it is today. My part of the presentation was about the perspective on gender equality in the United States compared to the perspective of other countries. To make it easier to understand I decided to separate it into two different views: the liberal and the conservative as this would make it more relevant to the elections that we are having right now and also easier to understand for the audience. It was very interesting to learn about the different views around the world over gender equality and it also made me apprec...

One of the most captivating aspects of the project was discovering the varying voting ages across different countries, particularly the fact that some nations allow citizens to vote at just 16 years old. This divergence highlights the diverse approaches to civic engagement and the belief in empowering younger individuals to participate in the democratic process. Additionally, delving into the timeline of women's suffrage revealed a profound evolution in societal values, showcasing the struggles and triumphs women faced in their fight for voting rights. Understanding these historical milestones not only emphasizes the importance of inclusivity in democracy but also encourages a deeper appreciation for the rights we often take for granted today.

blog 2 post..

I was most interested when we talked about how we saw our society and what individuals believed about specific laws and basic principles. I enjoy listening to people's thoughts and how their minds interpret and process various circumstances, particularly those that are social in nature. Our class discussions remained polite and relaxed, despite the fact that some students used some, in my opinion, somewhat naive or inappropriate language. It was really nice to address social and political issues in a calm way. These days, some people will start a brawl at the mention of politics in any situation outside of their homes. Regardless of whether one side labels the other fascist or communist, the US appears to be more.It was intriguing to see how some of my students were so fervent about particular subjects because I did not anticipate that such a young group would be so knowledgeable. One of humanity's more amazing achievements is that we are able to develop so many progressive a...

Blog Post #2             For our second group project we were tasked to tackle a more political topic and discuss in depth why the coming election is so important. I was actually quite surprised at the amount of progressive thinking my class did considering we live in a very conservative state. My group was tasked with the topic of gender equality and I had to research and present its history to the class.  In the time when we were doing our slides, I noticed that most of my teammates/ classmates were already pretty set and confident in their ideas. I am truthfully very glad that my classmates are so progressive as it is my belief that being conservative and holding such old values so close is not healthy for our progress as a species.      When we discussed how we viewed our society and what people thought of certain laws and fundamentals is when I felt the most interest. I love hearing what people think and...

Project Reflection Group 2

Davaria Braynen The Excitement of Group Projects and Informative Presentations often carry a reputation that ranges from exhilarating to exasperating. However, my recent experience with a group project turned out to be one of the most enjoyable and educational experiences I've had. It not only allowed for collaboration but also opened the door to a wealth of information through our presentations. The blend of teamwork, creativity, and knowledge made this project a truly memorable one the excitement of working together from the onset, the energy in our group was palpable. We were a diverse mix of personalities and skills, each bringing something unique to the table. As we gathered for our first meeting, the initial nervousness quickly transformed into excitement. We began brainstorming ideas, and it was refreshing to see how different perspectives could come together to create something greater than the sum of its parts. One of the most enjoyable aspects was the friendship tha...
